These aren't posed family portraits. This is a mix of documentary and fine art- painterly, soulful, and deeply intentional. Images that capture the way your child reaches for your hand. The way you look at them when they aren't looking back.
The quiet, the chaos, the in-between moments that make up your beautiful life together.
This is for mothers, and it's for every caregiver who's ever loved a child so deeply it changed them at their core- dads, non-binary parents, grandparents raising grandkids, anyone doing this work.
She was so easy and comfortable to work with, we came up with ideas before the shoot. She asked what I was comfortable with (ie. getting messy with paint). When we arrived at the location, she already had planned out the spots we would take pictures in, she had backdrops, paints, brushes, canvas, etc ready. The photos she took were absolutely gorgeous! Would 100% work with Kirstie again.

✦ MY APPROACH
I'm not chasing a perfect frame, I'm chasing the real one- the messy hair, the mid-laugh, the way you actually hold your kids when no one's telling you to smile.
These sessions happen wherever feels most like you- at home, in your backyard, out in nature, or in studio. There's no single "right" setting. We choose whatever place lets you actually exhale.
Nudity and breastfeeding are common within this kind of work- a lot of the imagery that moves people most comes from moments that unguarded. But neither is ever mandatory. It's never the point of the session, it's simply allowed to be part of it if it's true to your story.
I'd invite you to let go of whatever a "photoshoot" has meant to you before. This isn't that. This is art. This is connection. We work together- this is a collaboration, not me directing you through poses. Because of that, the people drawn to this kind of work tend to already value art, and are often artists themselves.
✦ Who Are These Sessions For?
This tends to be the sweet spot for younger families- newborns through kids four and under, when the days feel the longest and the years feel the shortest.
But it works beautifully for older kids and siblings too- it just takes a slightly different shape. If your kids are past the baby-and-toddler years, reach out anyway. We'll build the session around wherever you actually are.
