Self-portrait of a woman with dark hair in a light sweater, sitting with her brindle-coated dog on a couch, framed decoratively against a black background, capturing a warm and intimate connection

I’ve always been drawn to old photographs.

As a child, I would sit for hours with my grandparents’ albums, slowly turning pages, soaking it all in. I pieced together stories from what I could see, who loved who, who laughed easily, who stood close.

In those images, I began to recognize my own life reflected back at me.

What stayed with me wasn’t just the fact that those moments were frozen in time, it was the feeling inside them.

The small gestures. The unguarded laughter. The quiet ways love revealed itself. Photographs, I learned early on, have the power to hold more than memory.

They hold meaning.

That way of seeing never left me.

Origins

Artistic self-portrait of a woman with closed eyes, holding a rose draping over her face, bathed in warm pink and orange light resembling a glowing lamp, creating a soft, intimate atmosphere
My grandma, grandad, and great uncle always had a camera at every family event, and I often found myself snapping a few shots too. It wasn’t until I received my first film camera, a Minolta P’s, that I really began to explore photography.
My friends and I would dress up, do our makeup, and wander outside in search of the perfect spots to create. Photography became our way to connect, to explore, and to express ourselves without judgment.
That curiosity stayed with me through high school and into adulthood, evolving from film point-and-shoots and homemade pinhole cameras made from pop cans, to DSLRs and beyond. and now it continues in self-portraits with my children.

Beginnings

Artistic black and white portrait of a woman in a white nightgown walking through tall grass, captured with motion blur and a foggy, ethereal atmosphere, with trees in the background
I grew up on a farm in a small town with big dreams. While other teens filled their walls with boy bands, mine were covered in fashion magazine clippings. I loved beauty, fashion, and the arts, and eventually moved to Toronto to chase that world.
The city thrilled me — the art, the connections, the energy — but I found myself longing for the calm and rhythms of nature I had grown up with. Now I live in the city, close to a large park and just a short drive from the farm I still romanticize.

Connection

A person kneeling on a dark surface, holding a pear-shaped object in front of their chest. They are shirtless, wearing dark underwear, and their face is not visible.
I earned my BA in Photography in 2017 with a focus on fashion and beauty, and even interned in London UK with a fashion and beauty photographer.
But I realized it was never really about fashion.
It’s about connection, with the people I photograph, the moments I witness, and the emotions I can capture. Every session is an opportunity to create space for presence, honesty, and intimacy.

Everyday

A woman having makeup applied by two young girls in a bedroom with artwork on the wall and a table with magazines and bottles on it.
After having my two children, I craved slowing down and finding art and beauty in the quiet, ordinary moments. My photography is intuitive and honest, each image edited with care.
I am inspired by Renaissance paintings, nature, and my children.

Photography, for me, is about noticing and holding the moments that matter most.

If you’ve found your way here, it’s likely because you value connection, presence, and storytelling too.

I’d love to create images with you where you feel seen & connected.
